Changing Epidemiology of Gram-negative Infection

چکیده
1. Evaluate the risk factors for gram-negative nosocomial infection and antimicrobial resistance for patients in the intensive care unit. 2. Apply your understanding of the mechanisms of resistance common to gram-negative bacteria in nosocomial disease, including extended-spectrum β-lactamase production, porin channel deletion or structural changes, and efflux pump expression, to empiric antibiotic drug selection for nosocomial pneumonia, urinary tract infection, and bacteremia. 3. Formulate a systems approach to improving the administration of appropriate empiric antibiotic therapy. 4. Given pertinent clinical and laboratory data, design an appropriate treatment plan for a patient with nosocomial gram-negative infection. 5. Evaluate the newer therapies available for managing gram-negative bacteria against traditional antibiotic drugs for empiric treatment of nosocomial infection.

Epidemiology of Urinary Tract Infection and Antibiotic Resistance Pattern in Patients Referred to Amiralmomenin Hospital of Gerash City in 2018
Background and Aims: Urinary tract infections are one of the most common human infections seen in all age groups and both sexes. Inappropriate use of antibiotics to treat urinary tract infection causes the resistance of the pathogens to the drug. The present study aimed to determine the frequency of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and antibiotic resistance patterns in patients with uri...
متن کاملChanging epidemiology of bloodstream infection pathogens over time in adult non-specialty patients at an Australian tertiary hospital.
The epidemiology of bloodstream infections (BSI) has been changing over time in developed countries. However, overview reports of BSI trends are limited in Australia. This descriptive epidemiological study analysed general and age-group specific trends, and antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of blood culture isolates between 2001 and 2009 in non-specialty adult patients at an Australian tert...
متن کاملThe Changing Epidemiology of Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 Infection: The Associated Effects on the Incidence of Ocular Herpes
Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) with a worldwide distribution has been reported in all human populations, resulting in a clinical spectrum of infections. Although HSV type 2 (HSV-2) is known as the most common cause of genital herpes, an increasing number of cases with genital herpes are caused by HSV-1. The present study aimed to discuss the changes in the epidemiology of HSV-1 infection i...
متن کاملFrequency of Multi-Drug Resistance (MDR) in Gram Negative Bacteria from Urinary Infection in Gorgan, 2011-12
Abstract Background and objective: The periodic evaluation of antimicrobial activity of different antibiotic is essential because antibiotic sensitivity pattern may also changed during short courses. The aim of this study was to assess the frequency of Multi-drug Resistance (MDR) in Gram negative uropathogens. Material and Methods: This study was conducted on 111 gram negative uropatho...
